The Romsey Area Schools' Orchestras (RASO) are a pyramid of ensembles, which cater for the musical needs of the young people of Romsey and the surrounding area.

Opportunities for all
Playing together is a great social, as well as educational, activity. The Orchestras provide instrumentalists with a range of opportunities to further their musical education in an ensemble setting.

RASO members are friendly and welcoming and although the primary focus of the ensembles is musical, there is a strong social aspect to the groups. The Concert Band is looking forward to starting the 2010/11 academic year with a Residential course at Avon Tyrrell in the New Forest.

Out and About
RASO ensembles perform in a range of venues across the County and beyond and we also hope to make it abroad next academic year!

Hampshire Music ServiceRASO is part of the Hampshire Music Service, which is responsible for maintaining over 70 area and county music ensembles across Hampshire. These groups enjoy a high profile and an envious reputation locally, nationally and internationally. The Music Service is part of Hampshire County Council, and provides instrumental and vocal teaching from 150 specialist music teachers to more than 39,000 Hampshire children.
